However, the uncertainty of extensive planting and harvest, the low utilization rate of land in alternate annual rotation, the low added value of fresh roots and leaves, and the single product development without chain have always restricted the development of the Houttuynia cordata industry.

Promoting the protection of Houttuynia cordata germplasm, smart planting and product development, improving the Houttuynia cordata industry chain, and promoting cluster development have become the top priorities of the town. On June 8, the Houttuynia cordata industrial park in Lianghe Town broke ground in Qunfeng Village.

The project covers an area of ​​4.3 hectares and is constructed in two phases. The first phase invested 41.3 million RMB to build 5 multi-span plastic smart greenhouses with a total area of ​​16,000 square meters, 2 multi-span glass smart greenhouses with a total area of ​​6,400 square meters, and 3 individual laboratories and science rooms. The total investment of the second phase is 120 million RMB, mainly for the construction of Houttuynia cordata cleaning and packaging, cold chain logistics, processing and other projects and e-commerce workstations for Houttuynia cordata.

"This plastic smart greenhouse has an integrated intelligent control system for water, fertilizer, air and lighting. It was officially put into use on November 18." Shi Mingcheng pointed to the greenhouse and gave the reporter a calculation. "The greenhouse can breed 8 seasons of high-quality seedlings a year, and the 5 greenhouses can provide 200,000 plants per season, which can supply 1.6 million plants throughout the year, which can meet the planting of 1,000 hectares of Houttuynia cordata, and the annual income is expected to reach 6 million RMB."

Shi Mingcheng told reporters that smart factory seedlings have taken the first step in the refined production of Houttuynia cordata. After the greenhouses are all built, they will all be cultivated with soilless substrates to realize fully intelligent planting of light, watering and fertilization. During the process of raising seedlings, the Houttuynia cordata seedlings can be sterilized and disinfected, the selection of varieties can be optimized to be purified and be stronger, and to solve the problem of bacteria near the root zones, so as to solve problems such as crop rotation.

"After the project is completed, it is expected that the output value will reach 500 million RMB, and the e-commerce sales will exceed 80 million RMB. Next, we will build the whole industry chain of Houttuynia cordata, and develop pharmaceutical products through cooperation with Sinopharm Group, Aolilong and other enterprises to develop health care products, build Houttuynia cordata processing industrial park and Houttuynia cordata health care characteristic town."
