Kids in Concord were out along the Merrimack River this week to help plant new mulberry trees.

The students are from Broken Ground Elementary School.

The eight mulberry trees were planted to replace lost trees at the Merrimack River Outdoor Education and Conservation Area. There was only one mulberry tree left in the area.

The Forest Society, which cares for the trees, said the mulberry fruit will attract lots of local wildlife including birds, chipmunks and foxes.
